Partnering with Tribal child welfare programs for another 5 years!

Greetings!

We are excited to continue working with you to strengthen Tribal child welfare programs and ensure that all Indian children can thrive in their Native communities, especially during these challenging times. On behalf of the Capacity Building Center for Tribes, we thank you for partnering with us to strengthen Tribal child welfare programs serving American Indian and Alaska Native children, families and communities.  We offer culturally-responsive services, tools and resources that build on a foundation of respect for the inherent sovereignty of Tribal Nations and the recognition that solutions come from within Tribal communities.

Our Services
The Center for Tribes engages and partners with Tribal child welfare programs in three different areas:

Universal Services includes products, resources and tools, including webinars and e-learnings for Tribal child welfare professionals on our Tribal Information Exchange, including a Tools for Tribes feature designed specifically by and for Tribal child welfare professionals to share resources with one another.

Targeted Services provides opportunities for Tribal child welfare programs funded through Title IV-B and Title IV-E grants to learn through consultation, coaching, and peer-to-peer learning.

Tailored Services allows individual Title IV-B and IV-E funded Tribes to more deeply engage with our specialists to pursue organizational systems change.  The Center provides trauma-informed programs, Tribal child welfare leadership and worker skills, data and technology capacity building, and strengthened Tribal-State partnerships.  Most of our services can be adapted for virtual learning platforms during times when travel is restricted.

Partnering Organizations
The Tribal Law and Policy Institute and the Butler Institute for Families lead this Center with support from the Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine, Westat, the University of Oklahoma, and the National Native Children’s Trauma Center at the University of Montana.

The Capacity Building Center for Tribes is part of the Federal Children’s Bureau Child Welfare Capacity Building Collaborative with the Center for States and Center for Courts.

Look for more information in the coming months! In the meantime, feel free to view our welcome webinar held on May 14, 2020.

With warm regards,

The Center for Tribes
