This article highlights presentations by a Tribal-State Child Welfare panel at the Association of Village Council Presidents 51st Annual Convention. Panelists represented local, regional and state organizations and provided suggestions on how to keep children in their tribal communities. These included training more foster parents in each village, with the need for therapeutic foster parents emphasized, and establishing and empowering tribal courts.
