The Capacity Building Center for Tribes presents a unique opportunity to learn from the experiences of the Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the nation’s first to address child welfare and native people. These brief videos can help tribal child welfare organizations gain a deeper understanding of how a truth commission process can promote healing and lasting change. This first video, “Truth, Healing, and Change: Reflections from the Maine Truth Commission”, focuses on developing a vision and outlining a purpose to move forward with a particular truth-telling and healing process for communities impacted by child welfare interventions.
